That Renaissance man of Latin American arts and letters, Alberto Fuguet, has a new film, shot while he was in residence at the Vanderbilt Center for Latin American Studies. Música Campesina tells the story of Alejandro Tazo who follows a girl from Chile to the States and winds up in Nashville. It is a beautiful and complex story of identity and immigration, love and music, that captures the spirit of the new Nashville. (Full disclosure: I am the Executive Producer.)
